Wallis and Futuna
Officially called the Territory of the Wallis and Futuna Islands, the French-governed Wallis and Futuna Islands lie 230 kilometres away from each other in the heart of the Pacific.
Although connected, each island boasts a distinct difference: Futuna traces its roots to Samoa, while Wallis has ancestral connections with Tonga.
Both islands are well-known for their locally made handicrafts with the Tongan-influenced designs found around Wallis, and the Samoan-like tapa designs of the Futunans.
Both islands are world-renowned for their incredible natural beauty. Visitors can look forward to sampling local cuisine, immersing themselves in the rich traditional Polynesian culture, and viewing the natural wonders of these magnificent islands.
