Tokyo Disney Resort is an absolute must-visit destination for travellers of all ages, whether you’re a lifelong Disney fan, travelling with children, or simply looking to experience one of the most magical places in Japan.
The resort is home to two world-class theme parks: Tokyo Disneyland, which celebrates classic Disney stories and characters, and Tokyo DisneySea, a unique, nautically themed park found only in Japan.
Located just outside central Tokyo in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, Tokyo Disney Resort is easily accessible via public transport, making it a convenient and popular day trip or overnight excursion for visitors staying in the Tokyo metropolitan area. It’s connected by the JR Keiyo Line and Musashino Line, with Maihama Station delivering you right to the resort entrance.

Tokyo Disneyland vs DisneySea: What’s the Difference?
Tokyo Disneyland: Classic Disney magic, similar to Disneyland in the U.S. Best for families with young kids.
Tokyo DisneySea: Unique to Japan! More thrilling rides, themed around oceans and exploration. Great for older kids, teens, and adults.
Both parks are located in Urayasu, about 30–40 minutes from central Tokyo.
Getting to Tokyo Disney
Board the JR Keiyō Line or Musashino Line at Tokyo Station.
These lines are accessible from the Keiyō Line platform, which is located in the southern part of Tokyo Station.
Note: The walk to the Keiyō Line platform can take about 10 minutes from other platforms within Tokyo Station.
Travel to Maihama Station.
The journey takes approximately 14–17 minutes.
Trains depart every 10–15 minutes throughout the day.
The fare is around ¥230–¥450 one way.
From Maihama Station:
For Tokyo Disneyland:
Exit the station and follow the signs; the park entrance is about a 5-minute walk.
For Tokyo DisneySea:
Take the Disney Resort Line monorail from Maihama Station to Tokyo DisneySea Station.
The monorail ride takes about 10 minutes, with trains departing every few minutes.
The fare is ¥260.
Entrance Times
Park Hours: Usually 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM, but check the official website or app for exact times.
Arrive Early: Arrive at least 30–45 minutes before opening to beat the crowds.
