  • Odakyu Highway Bus (designated areas)

  • "KANKO SHISETSU-MEGURI" Bus (Tourist Attraction Sightseeing Bus)


Additionally, the pass offers discounts at over 70 tourist attractions, including museums, hot springs, and restaurants, enhancing its value for visitors.

Exchanging your voucher

To exchange your Hakone Freepass voucher at Shinjuku Station, visit the Odakyu Sightseeing Service Center, Shinjuku West.


This centre is located on the B1 floor of Odakyu Line Shinjuku Station's West Exit Underground Concourse.


Operating Hours: The centre is open daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.


Exchange Process:


  1. Present your e-voucher (printed or on your mobile device) at the service counter.

  2. The staff will issue your physical Hakone Freepass.

  3. At this time, you can also set the start date for your pass's validity, up to one month in advance.


Note: If you plan to travel from Odawara instead, you can exchange your voucher at the Odakyu Sightseeing Service Center, Odawara, located outside the ticket gate of Odakyu Line and Hakone Tozan Train in Odawara Station. This centre operates from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.


The Romancecar

The Romancecar is a limited express train operated by Odakyu Railway, offering a direct and comfortable journey from Shinjuku to Hakone-Yumoto Station. Known for its panoramic windows and reserved seating, the Romancecar provides a scenic and efficient travel experience.


Key Features:

  • Reserved Seating: All seats are reserved, ensuring a guaranteed spot.

  • Scenic Views: Large windows offer unobstructed views of the passing landscapes.

  • Direct Route: The train provides a direct connection between Shinjuku and Hakone-Yumoto, eliminating the need for transfers.


When you exchange your Hakone Free Pass voucher, if you have the Romance Car included, make sure you show your Romance Car voucher to the ticketing clerk.


Hakone Free Pass Vouchers and Romance Car confirmation

Please note that these will be included in your Documents, but are usually uploaded into your booking closer to departure as we can only book these 30 days prior to travel – so don’t worry if all your other documents are included, but your Hakone Free Pass is missing (unless you’re just a few days away from needing it!).
